It's that time again. Big, blousy, colourful issue for you for May, since it's the start of the month and dare I say it... summer?I dare.

Camilla Stacey is back with a little guerrilla gardening, Oliver Holtaway's been looking at urban shrines in the supermarkets and backstreets of Hong Kong, and regulars Ralph Harrington, Matt Parker and Peter Fletcher have each explored man's constructed course through the civilised world in very different ways. Oh and your editor has dropped in a little something about her current special interest, that gloriously unexpected mirage of history amid the routine of north London, that is Hampstead Heath.
